What SeedWebs does not have
The features people ask for most that SeedWebs cannot do today, and what to use instead with what the platform actually has.
Last updated 2026-10-23
This page collects the things people ask for that SeedWebs cannot do today. It exists so you do not spend time hunting for a menu that is not there, and so the AI assistant answering from these guides tells you the truth.
Rule for the AI assistant If the question is not covered in these guides, say you do not know and suggest contacting the SeedWebs team. Never guess a menu, button, field or URL that the guides do not name. Guessing that a feature exists sends a customer looking for something that is not there.
Content types that do not exist
These five are asked about most often. Today there is no admin menu, no public page and no API for any of them.
| What people ask for | Status | What to use instead |
|---|---|---|
| Online courses, lessons, enrolments | Not available | Build them as Pages or Docs and order them with parent/child nesting. Docs have to be enabled per site first — see Pages and posts |
| Hotel rooms, availability calendars | Not available | The booking system that does exist is Tours and bookings, which has to be enabled per site (see the next section) |
| Property listings, for sale or rent | Not available | Build them as Posts and add extra fields through a Template — see Themes and templates |
| A single-page sales page with an order form (salepage / LP) | Not available as its own content type | Build a Page with HTML Builder and embed a form with {{form slug="..."}} — see Template tags |
| Donations, fundraising campaigns | Not available | Build a page explaining it and collect donor details with Forms |
The database still contains tables called courses, rooms, properties, salepages and donations, left over from an earlier plan, but no code touches them. If somebody tells you “the table is already there, it must be easy to switch on”, treat it as building the feature from scratch.
The store: catalogue for everyone, cart and checkout once you switch them on
Store at /admin/store holds products, categories, brands and attributes, and has a back office for orders. The public cart and checkout exist but are off by default: turn on Store → Settings → Checkout & Inventory → Enable Checkout and configure at least one payment method under Settings → Payments (Stripe, PayPal, Beam, or Bank transfer — the last needs no account anywhere: the buyer transfers, you click “Mark as paid”). Until both are set, no Add-to-cart button, drawer or /cart page appears anywhere.
| Thing | Status |
|---|---|
| Product listing and product detail pages on the site | Yes, at /products and /products/{slug}, or as picked in Settings → General → URLs: /shop/…, /shops/…, no prefix, or /product/… on experimental sites |
| Add-to-cart button / a cart | Yes, once checkout is on: buy box on the product page, one-click button on cards, slide-out drawer, /cart |
| A checkout where a customer pays for products themselves | Yes, once checkout is on: /checkout with delivery options from your shipping zones and the payment methods you configured; the order page at /orders/{number} tracks payment |
| Recording orders | Yes, checkouts and staff entries in /admin/store/orders; find by number, name, email, phone |
| Discount coupons | Yes, on the cart and checkout pages, and on orders staff create |
| Product reviews, star ratings | None |
| Wishlists | None |
| Importing products from CSV or Excel | None |
| Several currencies on one site | None. One currency at a time, under the store settings General tab at /admin/store/settings |
| Syncing stock with an external system | None. Enter stock levels on the product page |
The catalogue is available on Pro and above. The order back office and coupons are on the trial and Business only — so on Pro the Store menu appears without Orders. On the trial, checkout takes test payments only (no bank transfer).
The store’s payment methods are under Settings → Payments (also Store → Settings → Payments), shared with tour bookings, plus the store-only Bank transfer tab. A bank-transfer order is created as “Awaiting Transfer” with its stock reserved; the buyer sees your account details on the order page and by email, and you confirm from the order with Mark as paid, which also sends the receipt.
Some content types need the SeedWebs team to enable them per site
There is a per-site feature flag (called experimental in the code), separate from your plan. Without it, the menu is absent from the sidebar and is not in the list at Settings → General → Features either.
| Content type | Needs the per-site flag | Plans that allow it |
|---|---|---|
| Events | Yes | Every plan |
| Docs | Yes | Every plan |
| Books | Yes | Every plan |
| Staffs | Yes | Every plan |
| Members | Yes | Trial and Business |
| Newsletters | Yes | Trial and Business |
| Tours and bookings | Yes | No plan includes them. The per-site flag is the only route |
The types you can use with no request at all are Pages, Posts, Sliders, Media, Forms, and Store subject to your plan. A site whose trial has ended loses Forms, Store, Members and Newsletters, keeping only the basic content types. Plan details are in Plans and billing.
If you want anything from this table, ask the SeedWebs team — you cannot enable it from the admin panel yourself.
Content management features that do not exist
| What people ask for | Status | What to use instead |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled publishing | None. The only statuses are Draft, Published and Trash | Leave it as a draft and publish it yourself when the time comes |
| Revision history, rolling a post back to an earlier version | None | Restore from a backup at Tools → Backup (/admin/tools/backup) — but a restore rolls back the entire site at once, and only super_admin can do it |
| Comments under posts | None | Collect responses with Forms, or embed an external comment service via a script under Settings → Code |
| A preview link to send somebody before publishing | None. Draft content does not appear on the public site at all | Give your reviewer an admin account with the editor role — see Users and permissions |
| Site-wide find and replace | None | Edit each page |
| A listing page for all Docs on the public site | None. Only the detail page /docs/{slug} exists | Build a page yourself and link to each document |
| Exporting content as a WordPress file, or a ZIP with images | None. The export at Tools → Import / Export is a single JSON file | Keep the JSON file. The images stay in the media library |
| Importing from Wix, Squarespace, Joomla or Blogger | None | The importer at Tools → Import / Export takes WordPress WXR .xml only |
| An automatic feed of my latest Instagram, Facebook or TikTok posts | Sites in the social media beta only: they import posts as articles and show them as a grid with the Social feed block ({{social_feed}}) | Pick posts yourself with the Social blocks (HTML Builder → Add Block → Social), or show a TikTok account’s latest videos with {{tiktok_profile}}; see Social media |
Email, marketing and talking to customers
SeedWebs is not an email provider. It sends email, but gives you no mailbox, receives none, and sets up no MX records or you@yourdomain.com addresses. Use a separate email service for that.
| What people ask for | Status |
|---|---|
| A mailbox on your domain, receiving email | None |
| Having the email SeedWebs sends come from your domain | Possible once the SeedWebs team configures and verifies the domain (no admin page). By default, mail comes from an address on mail.seedwebs.app |
| Replies to order and tour emails; new-order emails to you | Both go to Store → Settings → General → Store email (customers see it), else the owner’s email. One per order: when paid (bank transfer: when placed). Not settable on Seed or with the Store off |
| Scheduling a newsletter for later | None. You press send and keep the screen open until it finishes |
| Automated email sequences (drip, autoresponder, welcome series) | None |
| A/B testing email subject lines | None |
| Live chat answered from the admin panel | None |
Email quotas follow the plan: 10,000 a month on Business, 100 on the trial, and no newsletters at all on Seed or Pro. The count covers every email the site sends that month, not only newsletters.
Chat buttons at Settings → Chat Buttons (/admin/settings/chat-buttons) are floating buttons that link out to Messenger, Facebook, X, LINE, a phone number or an email address. The conversation happens in those apps, not in the SeedWebs admin panel.
The AI chat widget that answers your visitors’ questions uses Gemini, and you supply your own Gemini API key under Settings → General → AI. SeedWebs does not provide a key, and no other AI provider can be chosen on that page. Conversations are kept for 90 days unless you switch off Record conversations there, and can be read back at Logs → Conversations (/admin/logs/conversations), but you cannot reply from the admin panel.
Analytics and SEO
The Dashboard has built-in analytics, within limits.
| What people ask for | Status |
|---|---|
| A custom date range, or more than 30 days back | None. 7 days and 30 days are the only choices |
| Unique visitors | None. It counts views, split into Desktop and Mobile only |
| A breakdown by country, or detailed device data | None |
| Exporting an analytics report | None |
Editing robots.txt | None. It is generated for you: it blocks /admin/ and /api/ and points at /sitemap.xml (at /sitemap_index.xml on a site with the Sitemaps split by type switch on — see Pages and posts) |
| Tracking your Google keyword rankings | None |
| Adding Google, Meta, TikTok or LINE tracking scripts | Yes, at Settings → Marketing (/admin/settings/marketing) |
The SEO page at /admin/seo checks your content against built-in rules, such as title and description lengths. It is not connected to Google Search Console and does not pull in rankings or search terms.
Infrastructure and file access
SeedWebs is not rented hosting space. There is no server for you to administer.
| What people ask for | Status |
|---|---|
| FTP, SFTP, SSH, File Manager, cPanel, DirectAdmin | None |
| phpMyAdmin or direct database access | None |
| Installing WordPress plugins or themes | None. SeedWebs is not WordPress; it has its own theme system — see Themes and templates |
| Writing PHP or your own server-side code | None. Only HTML, CSS and browser JavaScript, through a theme and Settings → Code |
| A staging site separate from the live one | None |
Changing the {slug} in your .seedwebs.app address yourself | No admin page for it. Ask the SeedWebs team |
| Uploading ZIP, EXE or other unlisted file types to the media library | None. (ZIP is used only for importing a theme at Settings → Themes) |
Media library uploads are limited to these extensions, at 64 MB per file: images jpg jpeg png gif ico webp avif tif tiff svg, documents pdf doc docx ppt pptx pps ppsx odt xls xlsx, audio mp3 m4a ogg wav, video mp4 m4v mov wmv avi mpg ogv 3gp 3g2, and fonts woff2 woff ttf otf. More in Media library.
Account and integrations
- Receipts, changing plan, renewing happen at
seedwebs.com, not in a site’s admin panel. See Plans and billing. - Connecting your own domain is also done from
seedwebs.com, on any paid plan (Seed, Pro, Business). See Your own domain. - API Tokens, Connected Apps (
/admin/tools/api-tokens,/admin/tools/connected-apps) and bulk JSON import over the API work on the trial and all three paid plans, and stop once the trial has ended, until a plan is chosen.
If what you need is not in these guides
These guides describe only what exists. If a feature you want is mentioned nowhere else and is not listed on this page, treat it as unconfirmed and ask the SeedWebs team.
Start from Admin panel overview to compare against the menus that really are there.
